DOLPA — A cadre of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal, who was arrested by the police during the Nepal banda on Sunday, was forcibly set free (by the party cadres).
A group of five party cadres led by party district in-charge Ajit Bista allegedly attacked a police squad escorting the arrestee to Dunai from the Tripurakot Police Post and freed this morning.
Party district member Sagar Sahi of Mudkechula Rural Municipality-9 was taken under the police control from the Tripurakot Bagar Bazaar as he was imposing the banda announced by the party.
Shahi, 36, a resident of Mungke Chula rural municipality-9 was arrested from Tripura Sundari municipality’s bazaar by police on charges of imposing a general strike on Sunday.
Shahi was being taken to District Police Office at Dunai from Tripurakot police post.
Police head constable Dhan Singh Kathayat and policeman Jaylal Basnet suffered minor injuries in the incident took place at Thulibheri Municipality-9.
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Hari Prasad Sharma said 35 police personnel from Jufal, Kalagaunda and Dunai are searching for them.
“The cadres had attacked constables with stones and fled the scene with Shahi,” said DSP Sharma.
Bibash Shahi and Dinesh Singh who were detained along with Shahi were released by police in the evening on Sunday evening.
