Province 7 endorses policy and program


RAUTAHAT — Police has arrested Ward Chair Shakti Yadav of Kathariya Municipality-9 and other six persons in connection with the abduction and murder of 12-year-old boy in Rautahat.

12-year-old Yubaraj Sah also called Sunny Deol, son of local health worker Dilip Sah, was kidnapped from Dumariya in Kathariya Municipality-9 of Rautahat district on Saturday and found dead with bullet injuries 15-kilometres-away in Gadhimai Municipality at Bagmati River bank on Monday.

A joint police team led by Inspector duo Manoj Yadav and Chaturbhuj Ojha arrested ward chair’s son Shakti Yadav (19), Pravin Ray Yadav (20), Sunil Kumar Yadav (20), all of Dumariya, Kathariya Municipality-9 and Binod Kumar Patel (18), Ravi Kumar Patel (20), both of Aakadpathar of Brindaban Municipality in the district.

The arrestees informed the police on the location of deceased’s body and admitted killing Yubaraj under command of Ward Chair Yadav. Following a preliminary investigation, Ward Chair Yadav was arrested, according to police.

Police informed that the kidnappers, after 12 hours of abduction of Yubaraj, called his father and bargained for ransom for two hours. The family agreed to pay a ransom and asked for the drop location but the kidnappers suddenly went out of contact.

Although the family agreed to pay a ransom of Rs 500,000 to which the kidnappers agreed to release Sah, he was shot by the kidnappers following fear of arrest as their plan to take Shah to a safe house failed, according to police.

Police sia dthat the kidnappers had planned to take Yubaraj to a safe house away from the district. But, after police intensified the search, they were not able to take him out of the district and decided to shoot him and go back to Garuda to eliminate suspicions.

Following the incident, victim’s mother has lost her senses multiple times while she cries in immense agony over her child’s death.

While the parent’s dream of making their only son a doctor is about to burn in a funeral pyre along with him, entire Dumariya village has also gone into mourning.
